Jamaican Teas participated in Expo JA from Thursday, April 27 - Sunday, April 30, 2023. Hundreds of buyers and thousands of patrons passed through the National Arena and Indoor Sports Centre, sampling and learning about products which are all made in Jamaica. At the Jamaican Teas booth, products from both brands were showcased, including Hot Chocolates, Super Teas, Soups, the new Tetley Refreshing Mint and Iced Teas. The iced teas and soups were a hit!
Our Tetley Super Teas won the Best Packaging Award at the Expo JA awards due to its vibrant colours, clean and informative design. We were also nominated in the Best New Product category.
The execution of Expo JA is a massive undertaking and special thanks goes the following persons for their respective roles:
- Jonathan Mahfood, who led the business-to-business (buyer) meetings and prepared the delicious iced teas
- Damion Dixon and Oneil Johnson who assisted with transportation
- Adrain McGreggor, Nyoka Rogers, Nicole Ricketts and Latifah Wright, who manned the booth in the evenings; and Jermaine Lloyd who pitched in when the crowds grew big
- Jodi-Ann Mullings (Brand Manager, ADL) and the rest of the ADL Promotions team
- Mrs. Robinson for preparing the soups
- Sonia Dixon-Smith for assisting to prepare giveaways
- Oneil Williams who assisted in pulling the inventory items needed
- Dianna Blake-Bennett and Charles Barrett who provided insight into the execution of such an event
- Dominic Vassell (Digital Media Specialist, NxtLvL Management) for event coverage.
Best New Packaging Award: Tetley Super Teas
Criteria:
The criteria for Best Packaging are: attractiveness of the package, language (export readiness), & labelling (quality graphics/readability). JTL scored 30.5. out of 35. JTL was the clear winner and judges thought the packaging reflected everything in the criteria.
