H. Mahfood and Sons Ltd.

OUR HISTORY

H. Mahfood and Sons was Incorporated by Haseeb Mahfood in 1950. It was primarily involved in the wholesale of dry goods to small stores and shops around the island. Big selling items at the times were hats for men as well as cloth for making suits and dresses. Times changed and tastes in the market began to differ, consumers preferences moved from the traditional custom-made clothing to the more accessible, and cheaper ready-made clothes for both men and women; this lead to the business eventually closing down in 1996 leaving as it's the only asset at 130 1/2 Harbour St. In the Year 2000 Jamaican teas bought the company and used H. Mahfood and Sons as the vehicle to acquire other properties for both rental and construction. Today H. Mahfood and Sons is considered the real estate arm of the group.Mahfood and Sons has gone on to do many projects such as an 18 unit apartment complex in Kingsway, Kingston, a 71 unit housing development in St. Thomas, and is in the preparatory state of doing 2 more apartment complexes in Kingston with many more to come!
